Moorooduc Estate is the embodiment of premium, cool-climate Australian wine. Dr. Richard McIntyre and Jill McIntyre were among the first people to realise the potential for Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula. Established in 1982, it was one of the first wineries in the area.
The philosophy of the estate is minimal-intervention winemaking, to showcase their top quality fruit. Daughter Kate McIntyre MW, has further elevated the estate's profile with her deep understanding of all things viticulture/vinification, as well as a commitment to excellence. Together, the family embodies a philosophy rooted in respect for terroir, producing wines of depth and authenticity.
Among Moorooduc's acclaimed portfolio, The Moorooduc McIntyre Pinot Noir stands as a flagship expression of Mornington Peninsula's Pinot Noir. Sourced from estate-grown fruit, the wine reflects meticulous attention to detail in the vineyard and cellar. Made with indigenous yeasts and careful ageing in French oak, the wine exudes complex aromas of red and dark berries, floral nuances, and earthy spice. On the palate, it is elegant yet concentrated, with silky tannins and a lingering finish that speaks to its age-worthiness.
